Privacy policy

BIPulse is run by BIPulse, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. Questions: [email protected].

What BIPulse does

You connect a Power BI account, choose reports and recipients, and BIPulse emails each recipient their view of the report with a written summary on a schedule you set.

What we collect

• Your account. Your name, work email and Microsoft organisation ID, received when you sign in with Microsoft.
• Power BI access. A token that lets BIPulse read the reports your account can see. It is stored encrypted and is used only to render the reports you set up. BIPulse never edits reports, datasets or workspaces.
• Report data. To write the summary, BIPulse reads the numbers shown in the report visuals for each recipient’s filtered view. Rendered report images, PDFs and summaries are stored so they can be linked from the email.
• Recipients. The email addresses, names and filter values you add. Recipients don’t need a BIPulse account.
• Billing. Payment details are collected and stored by Stripe. We hold only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
• Delivery records. When each email was sent, to whom, and whether it was delivered.

Who processes it

BIPulse uses these providers to run the service. Each only receives what it needs for its job.

• Microsoft (sign-in and Power BI)
• Anthropic (writing the summary from the report’s numbers; the data is not used to train models)
• Resend (sending email)
• Cloudflare (hosting report images and PDFs)
• Neon (database) and Railway (application hosting)
• Stripe (billing)

We don’t sell data and we don’t use your report data for anything other than producing your deliveries.

Retention and deletion

Rendered images, PDFs and summaries are kept for 90 days so recent emails keep working, then deleted. Removing a report deletes its recipients and schedule immediately. Closing your account removes your account, connection token and recipients; delivery records are kept for 12 months for billing and support, then deleted. Email [email protected] to close your account or request a copy of your data.

Recipients

If you received a BIPulse email, the sender is the person named in it, from your own organisation. Every email has a one-click link to stop receiving it. We hold your address only to deliver what that person set up.

Security

Access tokens are encrypted at rest, all traffic is over HTTPS, and hosted report files live at unguessable addresses. Sign-in is handled by Microsoft; BIPulse never sees your password.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders before it takes effect.
